La mairie de Papaïchton et le Parc amazonien de Guyane organisent le jeudi 29 juin prochain, la 1ère édition des Jeux aluku Juniors à l’école Gaanman Tolinga de Papaïchton avec la participation de l’école de Loka.

De 8 heures à 17 h 30, 8 équipes vont s’affronter pour ce premier tournoi inter-écoles.

Au programme, des jeux traditionnels aluku : Sutu bo (tir à l’arc), Ali tetei (tir à la corde), Djulu et Siti lon na ini saka (course en sac). Des noms qui font référence à ces jeux d’antan dont certains étaient pratiqués dans beaucoup de cours d’écoles de Guyane, dans l’intérieur comme sur le littoral.

Durant la matinée se tiendront également des ateliers de transmission autour du Tembé, de la broderie, de danses traditionnelles et des arts wayana.

Dans l’après-midi aura lieu un mini-parcours du marronnage.

The town hall of Papaïchton and the Amazonian Park of Guyana are organizing the 1st edition of the aluku Junior Games on Thursday June 29 at the Gaanman Tolinga school in Papaïchton with the participation of the Loka school.

From 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 8 teams will compete in this first inter-school tournament.

On the program, traditional aluku games: Sutu bo (archery), Ali tetei (tug of war), Djulu and Siti lon na ini saka (racing in bag). Names that refer to these games of yesteryear, some of which were played in many schoolyards in French Guiana, both inland and on the coast.

During the morning there will also be transmission workshops around Tembe, embroidery, traditional dances and Wayana arts.

In the afternoon there will be a mini maroonage course.
