Nouveau protocole pour le suivi des savanes Trésor

L’étude du processus naturel de fermeture des savanes fait partie des actions prioritaires de gestion menées par l’équipe de la réserve. Si jusqu’à maintenant cette étude était réalisée par des prises de photos au sol et sur points fixes, nous testons dans le cadre du nouveau plan de gestion une approche aérienne qui à l’avantage de proposer une vue d’ensemble et, avec la technologie actuelle, d’obtenir des clichés en très haute résolution, permettant une analyse fine des contours de la savane.

Pour cela, l’équipe a fait appel à la société SENTINEL de Kourou pour obtenir une orthophoto de qualité de la savane « hocco » et de la petite savane à l’aide d’un drone.

Cette opération sera réalisée tous les 5 ans, et à terme, nous permettra de quantifier la rapidité de l’avancement du front forestier sur les savanes Trésor.

The study of the natural process of savannah closure is one of the priority management actions carried out by the reserve team. If until now this study was carried out by taking photos on the ground and on fixed points, we are testing, within the framework of the new management plan, an aerial approach which has the advantage of offering an overview and, with current technology, of obtaining shots in very high resolution, allowing a fine analysis of the contours of the savannah.

For this, the team called on the SENTINEL company in Kourou to obtain a quality orthophoto of the “hocco” savannah. and small savannah using a drone.

This operation will be carried out every 5 years, and in the long term, will allow us to quantify the speed of the advancement of the forest front on the Trésor savannahs.
