Nouvelle autorisation pour le CRB Amazonie

Les CRB, Centres de Ressources Biologiques, sont aussi plus communément appelés Biobanques ; ils ont pour rôle de conserver les échantillons biologiques. Le CRB Amazonie fut créé en 2016 durant l’épidémie à virus Zika sur un financement du FEDER (Union Européenne).

Celui-ci vient de décrocher l’autorisation AC-2021-4676 par le Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation, lui permettant de céder contre rémunération sa prestation de conservation des éléments liquides du corps humains liés aux pathologies infectieuses tropicales.

Cette autorisation est valable pour 5 ans. Celle-ci permettra au CRB de collaborer contre rémunération avec des structures publiques (hospitalières, académiques), mais aussi privées (industrielles) et donc d’avoir une certaine autonomie financière. Ce qui est une grosse avancée pour l’équipe du CRB, car ils pourront mettre à disposition leurs ressources gratuitement aux chercheurs du CH de Cayenne et ses partenaires.

La vocation du CRB Amazonie est de conserver sur la Guyane une partie des échantillons biologiques prélevés afin d’avoir des ressources dans le cadre de recherche scientifique sur le territoire et à l’international. Cette Biobanque met à disposition des chercheurs du CHC, nationaux, et même internationaux des bibliothèques d’échantillons biologiques liés aux maladies infectieuses tropicales (sérothèque) et des tissus humains cancéreux (tumorothèque).

L’équipe du CRB Amazonie est constituée d’un responsable médical, d’un responsable opérationnel et qualité et d’une technicienne. L’expertise de cette équipe a déjà conduit à une première certification, la NF S96-900, qui garantit la traçabilité et la qualité des échantillons.

Pour cette année 2022, l’objectif principal du CRB Amazonie est de passer à la norme internationale ISO 20387 en complément la norme ISO 9001. Avec cette démarche, le CRB poursuit sa volonté d’amélioration constante de la qualité de conservation des échantillons biologiques.

A plus long terme, le but du CRB Amazonie est d’accroître davantage tant le nombre de projet l’impliquant que de publications le citant, donnant ainsi du crédit scientifique, preuve de la confiance des chercheurs du CHC pour la conservation de leurs échantillons biologiques. Car le CRB constitue l’un de nos atouts majeurs pour la recherche scientifique en Amérique du Sud et pour le futur CHU de Guyane.

BRCs, Biological Resource Centers, are also more commonly called Biobanks; their role is to preserve biological samples. The CRB Amazonie was created in 2016 during the Zika virus epidemic with funding from the ERDF (European Union).

The latter has just obtained authorization AC-2021-4676 from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, allowing it to sell for remuneration its service of conservation of the liquid elements of the human body related to tropical infectious pathologies.

This authorization is valid for 5 years. This will allow the CRB to collaborate against payment with public structures (hospital, academic), but also private (industrial) and therefore to have a certain financial autonomy. This is a big step forward for the CRB team, because they will be able to make their resources available free of charge to researchers at the CH de Cayenne and its partners.

The vocation of the CRB Amazonie is to keep part of the biological samples taken in French Guiana in order to have resources for scientific research in the territory and internationally. This Biobank provides CHC, national and even international researchers with libraries of biological samples related to tropical infectious diseases (serotheque) and cancerous human tissues (tumour library).

The CRB Amazonie team is made up of a medical manager, an operational and quality manager and a technician. The expertise of this team has already led to a first certification, NF S96-900, which guarantees the traceability and quality of samples.

For this year 2022, the main objective of the CRB Amazonie is to switch to the international standard ISO 20387 in addition to the ISO 9001 standard. With this approach, the CRB pursues its desire to constantly improve the quality of conservation of biological samples.

In the longer term, the goal of the CRB Amazonie is to further increase both the number of projects involving it and of publications citing it, thus giving scientific credit, proof of the confidence of CHC researchers in the conservation of their biological samples. Because the CRB is one of our major assets for scientific research in South America and for the future University Hospital of French Guiana.
