Parution : « Saül et les poussières d'or »

Cette série écrite par l’historienne et romancière Marie George Thébia permet aux jeunes guyanais de 8 à 12 ans de découvrir l’histoire de leur pays à travers les aventures d’enfants qui leur ressemblent : courageux et amoureux de la Guyane, ils défendent leurs convictions et n’hésitent pas à braver les dangers de leur époque.

Teintée d’humour, parfois fantastique, la plume de la romancière a su se plier aux exigences de l’écriture pour enfants pour que ses jeunes lecteurs ne s’ennuient jamais. Pour ce troisième opus, elle s’est associée à l’illustrateur Olivier Copin qui avec brio amplifie les atmosphères du récit et sollicite l’imaginaire des enfants.

Originaires de Sainte-Lucie qu’ils ont quittée à la recherche d’une vie meilleure, le jeune Saül et son père travaillent sur la concession de monsieur Bessière.

Le garçon préférerait partir à l’aventure en forêt et trouver des amis pour jouer.

Un soir, de dangereux bandits pillent le maigre trésor découvert par les chercheurs d’or. Saül et son père doivent quitter le placer.

C’est près du village qui porte son nom que Saül et son chien Dagobert découvriront un trésor inestimable, l’amitié d’un vieil amérindien et une terre d’adoption, la Guyane. Mais le danger rôde au cœur de la forêt. Saül pourra-t-il échapper à ceux qui convoitent sa découverte ?
