Lancement de l’Année de la Biologie en Guyane

A l’initiative de l’Institut des Sciences biologiques du CNRS et du ministère de l’Education nationale, l’année scolaire 2021-2022 est placée sous le signe de la Biologie. En lien avec le Rectorat de Guyane française, le LEEISA célèbre cette année thématique en mettant à l'honneur un ensemble d'actions adressées principalement au public jeune et scolaire de Guyane française.

Le lancement de l’Année de la Biologie en Guyane est organisée autour de l’inauguration de l’exposition « A la recherche de l’Amazonie oubliée ». Cette série de 12 kakémonos extraite de la BD éponyme relate les travaux de recherche en écologie historique réalisés dans le cadre du programme scientifique LongTIme. Produite par le LabEx CEBA, cette exposition ouvre donc le bal des nombreuses animations qui seront valorisées cette année dans le cadre de l’Année de la Biologie.

Quatre projets du LabEx CEBA, lauréats de de l’AAP science et société 2021 « Une décennie de science en Guyane française : ça se fête » vont être mis en lumière : le projet « Paléobiodiversité » (kits pédagogiques pour les collèges et lycées de Guyane Française), le projet « Rendre visible l’invisible » (initiation au dessin naturaliste), le projet « A la recherche de l’Amazonie oubliée » (exposition autour de la bande dessinée de Laure Garancher/Editions Delcourt, qui a accompagné une mission d’écologie historique au cœur de la forêt de Guyane), et le projet « Animer les visions amérindiennes de la biodiversité amazonienne » (réalisation d’un court-métrage sur les représentations de la biodiversité des peuples Teko et Wayãmpi de l’Oyapock).

Le LabEx CEBA poursuit également l’édition de son Ti’Sciences Mag, une revue spécialement dédiée aux 8-12 ans qui prend toute sa place dans la célébration de cette Année de la Biologie.

Sciences participatives
L’action d’initiation au dessin naturaliste « Rendre visible l’invisible », portée par les artistes Delphine Zigoni et Julien Norwood, viendra également appuyer le projet scientifique Feder BuG de l’UMR EcoFoG, avec son axe de sciences participatives. Durant deux semaines, fin novembre 2021, les classes participantes du projet BUG vont bénéficier des ateliers de dessin naturaliste proposés par les artistes. Une exposition des œuvres réalisées sera proposée en fin d’année 2021. Cette action sera également valorisée dans le contexte de la Fête de la Science, avec une exposition d’œuvres sur le village des sciences de l’Université de Guyane, le 20 novembre.

Dans cet élan qui veut mettre à l’honneur les actions des scientifiques vers le public jeune, citons également le nouveau projet de sciences participatives porté par l’équipe EEBA du LEEISA et le LabEx CEBA : Papillonite et papillons cendres, qui fait appel aux écoliers et familles de Guyane pour des observations et des expériences amusantes autant qu’utiles.

Formation d’enseignants
Une journée de formation est proposée aux enseignants de SVT. Elle aura lieu le 10 décembre 2021, sur le campus de recherche de Montabo, à Cayenne. Animée par l’équipe EEBA (Ecologie et Evolution de la Biodiversité en Amazonie) du LEEISA, elle sera axée sur la découverte des thématiques de recherche et des protocoles d’études menés autour de la plateforme PLEEA – Ecologie expérimentale en Amazonie, un ensemble de serres et vivariums présents sur le site.

Village des Sciences le 20 novembre
Le LEEISA et le CEBA seront présents sur le Village des Sciences le 20 novembre à l’Université de Guyane, dans le cadre de la Fête de la Science. Ce sera pour tous l’occasion de découvrir les actions valorisées dans le cadre de l’Année de la Biologie.

At the initiative of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the CNRS and the Ministry of National Education, the school year 2021-2022 is placed under the sign of Biology. In conjunction with the Rectorate of French Guiana, LEEISA is celebrating this thematic year by highlighting a set of actions addressed mainly to young and school audiences in French Guiana.

The launch of the Year of Biology in French Guiana is organized around the opening of the exhibition "In search of the forgotten Amazon". This series of 12 kakemonos taken from the eponymous comic book relates the research work in historical ecology carried out as part of the LongTIme scientific program. Produced by LabEx CEBA, this exhibition therefore opens the way for the many events that will be showcased this year as part of the Year of Biology.

Four LabEx CEBA projects, laureates of the 2021 AAP science and society “A decade of science in French Guiana: it's time to celebrate” will be highlighted: the “Paleobiodiversity” project (educational kits for middle and high schools in French Guiana), the project "Make visible the invisible" (initiation to naturalist drawing), the project "In search of the forgotten Amazon" (exhibition around the comic strip by Laure Garancher / Editions Delcourt, which accompanied a mission of historical ecology in the heart of the Guyana forest), and the project “Animating Amerindian visions of Amazonian biodiversity” (production of a short film on the representations of the biodiversity of the Teko and Wayãmpi peoples of the Oyapock) .

The LabEx CEBA is also continuing to publish its Ti’Sciences Mag, a magazine specially dedicated to 8-12 year olds which takes its place in the celebration of this Year of Biology.

Participatory science
The initiation action to naturalist drawing "Making the invisible visible", led by artists Delphine Zigoni and Julien Norwood, will also support the Feder BuG scientific project of UMR EcoFoG, with its participatory science axis. For two weeks, at the end of November 2021, the participating classes of the BUG project will benefit from the naturalist drawing workshops offered by the artists. An exhibition of the works produced will be offered at the end of 2021. This action will also be promoted in the context of the Fête de la Science, with an exhibition of works on the science village of the University of French Guiana, on November 20 .

In this momentum which wants to honor the actions of scientists towards the young public, let us also mention the new participatory science project carried by the EEBA team of LEEISA and the LabEx CEBA: Papillonite and ash butterflies, which appeals to schoolchildren. and families in French Guiana for fun and useful observations and experiences.

Teacher training
A day of training is offered to teachers of SVT. It will take place on December 10, 2021, on the Montabo research campus in Cayenne. Led by LEEISA's EEBA (Ecology and Evolution of Biodiversity in the Amazon) team, it will focus on the discovery of research themes and study protocols conducted around the PLEEA platform - Experimental Ecology in the Amazon, a set of greenhouses and vivariums on the site.

Science Village on November 20
LEEISA and CEBA will be present at the Village des Sciences on November 20 at the University of French Guiana, as part of the Fête de la Science. This will be an opportunity for everyone to discover the actions promoted within the framework of the Year of Biology.
