Déroutement du caseyeur guyanien « Suzanne C7 »

Le 27 juin 2021, le patrouilleur Antilles-Guyane (PAG) « La Confiance » en patrouille de police des pêches dans la zone économique exclusive (ZEE) française a contrôlé un caseyeur présumé guyanien : le « Suzanne C7 ». Il se trouvait à 64 nautiques des côtes de la Guyane et à 4 nautiques de la frontière avec le Suriname.

Le « Suzanne C7 » n’ayant pas de licence pour pêcher dans les eaux françaises, il avait déjà fait l’objet d’un contrôle par le PAG « La Confiance » le 22 mars 2021. Il a pourtant remis ses casiers à l’eau dans la ZEE française à 36 nautiques de la frontière avec le Suriname. Le FALCON 50 de la Marine Nationale a pu repositionner les casiers et confirmer les coordonnées enregistrées dans le GPS du « Suzanne C7 ». Les casiers se trouvaient à 30 nautiques du lieu de contrôle. Le PAG a rallié la position des casiers et a été rejoint en début de nuit par le « Suzanne C7 » à bord duquel se trouvait l’équipe de visite.

La direction générale des territoires et de la mer (DGTM) de Guyane a ordonné le déroutement du navire au port de Pariacabo (Kourou) pour saisie des engins de pêche. La remontée des casiers de nuit étant trop dangereuse, les 17 casiers ont été remontés le 28 juin 2021 au matin. Également, 4,8t de poisson ont été saisies.

Le 29 juin 2021, après avoir transité toute la nuit, le « Suzanne C7 » est arrivé au port de Kourou. Les casiers, panneaux de cales, panières et treuil hydraulique ont été saisis par la DGTM et le capitaine du navire a été auditionné par les gendarmes de la brigade maritime de Kourou. En lien avec le parquet de Cayenne, lui a été remis une convocation par un officier de police judiciaire (OPJ) devant le tribunal judiciaire de Cayenne. Le navire a été raccompagné à la frontière par le PAG « La Confiance ».

On June 27, 2021, the West Indies-French Guiana (PAG) patrol vessel "La Confiance" on a fishing police patrol in the French exclusive economic zone (EEZ) checked a suspected Guyanese capper: the "Suzanne C7". It was 64 nautical miles from the coast of French Guyana and 4 nautical miles from the border with Suriname.

The "Suzanne C7" not having a license to fish in French waters, it had already been checked by the PAG "La Confiance" on March 22, 2021. It nevertheless returned its traps to the water in the French EEZ 36 nautical miles from the border with Suriname. The FALCON 50 of the French Navy was able to reposition the traps and confirm the coordinates recorded in the GPS of the “Suzanne C7”. The lockers were located 30 nautical miles from the place of control. The PAG rallied to the position of the lockers and was joined at the start of the night by the "Suzanne C7" on board which the visiting team was.

The General Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DGTM) of French Guiana ordered the diversion of the vessel at the port of Pariacabo (Kourou) for seizure of fishing gear. The recovery of the night lockers being too dangerous, the 17 lockers were brought up on June 28, 2021 in the morning. Also, 4.8t of fish were seized.

On June 29, 2021, after having been in transit all night, the “Suzanne C7” arrived at the port of Kourou. The lockers, hatches, baskets and hydraulic winch were seized by the DGTM and the captain of the ship was interviewed by the gendarmes of the Kourou maritime brigade. In connection with the Cayenne prosecutor's office, he was given a summons by a judicial police officer (OPJ) before the Cayenne judicial court. The vessel was escorted to the border by the PAG "La Confiance".
