Découvrez le 1er recueil de « Contes teko et wayãpi de Guyane »

Depuis plusieurs années, le Parc amazonien de Guyane soutient l’intervention de conteurs à l’école de Camopi. L’objectif est de familiariser les élèves avec cette pratique de transmission, en s’appuyant sur des contes de leur culture.

Dans la continuité des ces interventions, il a été décidé de créer un recueil de contes imprimé, destiné en premier lieu aux élèves et à leurs familles.

Un conteur teko André Suitman, et deux conteurs wayãpi, Breteau Jean-Baptiste et Renault Sakeu, sont intervenus dans des classes durant l’année

2017-2018. Trois contes teko et trois contes wayapi ont été retenus, transcrits puis traduits afin de constituer le recueil.

En 2019, les élèves des deux classes de CM2 de l’école primaire de Camopi ont été associés à la réalisation de cet ouvrage : ils ont imaginé et réalisé les illustrations des contes, avec des ateliers de dessin et de découpage encadrés par une illustratrice professionnelle.

Imprimé dans un premier temps à 500 exemplaires grâce à un partenariat avec la DAC (DGCOPOP), le Parc amazonien, la CTG, le rectorat et l’ARS, cet ouvrage a été distribué à tous les élèves des écoles de Camopi et Trois-Sauts.

Le recueil « Contes teko et wayãpi de Guyane » fait l’objet d’une nouvelle édition grâce à un partenariat avec la société Orphie. Il est mis en vente au prix de 13 euros depuis le 1er mars dans les librairies : La Cas’A Bulles, Lettres d’Amazonie, Cultura, librairie ABC Place des Palmistes, Le Toucan Saint-Laurent du Maroni et dans les grandes surface de Guyane : Hyper NKT, Hyper U, Super U Kourou, Carrefour Matoury et Carrefour Contact. Une partie des sommes récoltées sera reversée aux trois conteurs camopiens et à la coopérative de l’école en vertu des droits d’auteurs.

Avec la contribution des élèves, au total c’est une cinquantaine de personnes qui ont travaillé sur ce projet.

Les langues amérindiennes de Guyane appartiennent à l’immense famille des langues à tradition orale, que l’on rencontre aujourd’hui, un peu partout dans le monde.
Bien des peuples possèdent ainsi un trésor qui se transmet de génération en génération, ne vivant que grâce à la fabuleuse mémoire dont chacune fait preuve. (...)
Chaque fois qu’un grand-père ou une grand-mère, mettant en scène leur talent, racontent une histoire à leurs petits-enfants, ils donnent vie à cet inestimable trésor dont ils sont, avant de passer le relais, les éphémères et paisibles gardiens.

For several years, the Amazonian Park of French Guiana has supported the intervention of storytellers at the Camopi school. The aim is to familiarize students with this practice of transmission, drawing on stories from their culture.

As a continuation of these interventions, it was decided to create a collection of printed tales, primarily intended for students and their families.

A teko storyteller André Suitman, and two Wayãpi storytellers, Breteau Jean-Baptiste and Renault Sakeu, spoke in classes during the year

2017-2018. Three teko tales and three wayapi tales were selected, transcribed and then translated in order to constitute the collection.

In 2019, the pupils of the two CM2 classes of Camopi primary school were involved in the production of this book: they imagined and produced the illustrations of the tales, with drawing and cutting workshops supervised by a professional illustrator. .

First printed in 500 copies thanks to a partnership with the DAC (DGCOPOP), the Amazonian Park, the CTG, the rectorate and the ARS, this book was distributed to all the students of the Camopi and Trois-Sauts schools. .

The collection "Teko and Wayãpi Tales of French Guiana" is the subject of a new edition thanks to a partnership with the company Orphie. The Amerindian languages of Guyana belong to the huge family of languages with an oral tradition, which can be found all over the world today.
