Focus sur le polychre marbré

Arboricole et diurne, il est possible d’observer le Polychrus marmoratus en journée, se promenant de branches en branches, en lisière sur de la végétation secondaire. Il est possible aussi de le croiser traversant une piste ou, la nuit, dormant à l’horizontal sur des branches à hauteur d’homme.

De taille moyenne (Longueur Museau Cloaque 9 à 13cm), il dispose d’une queue relativement longue allant de 2 à 3 fois la taille de l’individu. Cousin de l’anolis ou zandoli, ce lézard diurne est omnivore. En hauteur, il se positionnera à l’affût d’insectes et se jettera sur sa proie.

Arboreal and diurnal, it is possible to observe the Polychrus marmoratus during the day, walking from branch to branch, on the edge of secondary vegetation. It is also possible to cross it crossing a track or, at night, sleeping horizontally on branches at eye level.

Medium in size (cesspool muzzle length 9 to 13cm), it has a relatively long tail ranging from 2 to 3 times the size of the individual. Cousin of anolis or zandoli, this diurnal lizard is omnivorous. In height, it will position itself on the lookout for insects and will throw itself on its prey.
