Réaction de Rodolphe ALEXANDRE au discours du président de la République

Rodolphe Alexandre, président de la Collectivité Territoriale de Guyane (CTG), salue le discours du président de la République, Emmanuel Macron, tenu le lundi 13 avril 2020 et prend acte des objectifs nationaux fixés au 11 mai 2020.

Toutefois, concernant la réouverture progressive des collèges et lycées de Guyane, après une première consultation des acteurs de la société civile, le président de la CTG indique qu’en raison des spécificités locales et des interrogations qui demeurent, quant à l’évolution de l’épidémie sur les prochains jours (l'épidémie n'est encore qu'au stade 2 en Guyane), les conditions ne sont pas réunies pour permettre la réouverture des collèges et des lycées du territoire au 11 mai 2020 dans des conditions optimales.

De nombreuses questions se posent, en termes d’organisation, pour garantir au mieux la protection de la santé des enfants, des corps enseignants, des personnels encadrants et des familles :
- respect de la distanciation lors du transport des élèves en pirogue, bus et avion;
- respect des mesures barrières au sein des internats et des familles hébergeantes;
- organisation de la restauration scolaire;
- désinfection des locaux;
- etc.

Le président de la CTG poursuit sa consultation auprès des représentants de la société civile afin de recueillir leurs avis sur une organisation adaptée à la Guyane et sur la date de réouverture la plus propice pour les collèges et lycées.

However, regarding the gradual reopening of middle and high schools in French Guiana, after an initial consultation with civil society actors, the president of CTG indicates that due to local specificities and the questions that remain, as to the evolution of the epidemic over the next few days (the epidemic is still only at stage 2 in French Guiana), the conditions are not met to allow the reopening of secondary schools in the territory on May 11, 2020 in optimal conditions .

Many questions arise, in terms of organization, to best guarantee the protection of the health of children, teachers, supervisory staff and families:
- respect for distance when transporting students by canoe, bus and plane;
- compliance with barrier measures within boarding schools and host families;
- organization of school meals;
- disinfection of premises;
- etc.

The president of the CTG continues his consultation with the representatives of the civil society in order to collect their opinions on an organization adapted to French Guyana and on the most favorable reopening date for the colleges and high schools.
